3 unique stays in the Cyclades, Greece

Greece is home to hundreds of islands, each with its own personality, rhythm, and charm, but the Cyclades stand out for their sheer beauty and effortless blend of style and simplicity. From whitewashed villages perched on cliffs to crystal-clear waters and sun-drenched terraces, these islands have long been a dream destination for everyone in search of something extraordinary.

With so many options it can be hard to choose where to stay, especially when you're looking for something a little more unique. Picture yourself floating in a cave-style infinity pool in Santorini, with the caldera stretching out in front of you like a painting. Or stepping into a sleek, minimalist suite in Paros just steps from the sea, where the day begins with a morning swim and ends with sunset dinners under the stars. And let’s not forget the show-stopping glamour of Mykonos, where cliffside villas and private pools meet five-star indulgence and that unmistakable island energy.

If you're dreaming of the ultimate Greek island getaway, these three hotels in Santorini, Mykonos, and Paros deserve a top spot on your bucket list, each offering its own take on luxury, unforgettable views and a simply unique ambiance.

Kivotos Santorini
Kivotos is a boutique escape set on the cliffs of Imerovigli, the highest part of Santorini. It effortlessly blends contemporary art, Cycladic architecture, and breathtaking caldera views. The all-black aesthetic feels unique and bold, especially in the surrounding of whitewashed buildings. The cave-style suites with private pools and impressive views invite to slow mornings and magical golden hours. With just a few exclusive suites, personalized service, and one of the dreamiest restaurant views imaginable, this is Santorini at its most refined and romantic.

Cavo Tagoo Mykonos & Santorini
Famous for its iconic infinity pools and ultra-stylish design, Cavo Tagoo is a name that’s become synonymous with Greek island glamour – for good reason. In Mykonos, you’re just a few steps away from the vibrant town center, while still enjoying the seclusion of cliffside suites with private pools and sweeping sea views. The Santorini property offers a more intimate vibe, with bright rooms and all the signature touches: whitewashed walls, floating breakfasts and sunsets you’ll never forget. Both hotels are perfect for those who want luxury with a special extra – where every detail is photo-worthy, and the atmosphere is effortlessly cool.

Cove Paros
Minimalistic and soulful paired with a boho vibe, Cove Paros is a boutique beachfront hotel tucked into the bay of Naoussa. It is a place where the architecture plays with texture and light – earthy tones, white walls and clean lines that blend seamlessly into the natural landscape. Their suites are just steps from the water with their own pools and shaded terraces while the rooms offer quiet a osais with pool or garden views. The most special at Cove is the laid-back vibe – it’s stylish but never pretentious and you get the sense that time moves a little slower there. Now add a fantastic Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and you’ve got a place you’ll never want to leave.

General information – Boutique and design-focused with only a handful of exclusive suites, ideal for couples or honeymooners looking for a quiet and luxurious Santorini experience

Kivotos Santorini is located in the heart of Imerovigli, one of the most serene and scenic spots on the island. Perched high above the caldera, it offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea, the volcano and of course the famous Santorini sunsets – all without the crowds of Oia. The hotel is tucked away enough to feel like a private sanctuary but still perfectly located for exploring both the vibrant capital Fira and the postcard-perfect cliffside paths to the whitewashed houses in Oia.

The best months are May to October, when the island basks in warm sunshine and long, golden evenings. We visited in the beginning of may – it was sunny and the temperatures were pleasant for exploring, but not that hot. Especially in the evenings it can get a bit colder. For a slightly more peaceful experience, we recommend visiting in June or September – the weather is usually perfect and the island has a calmer, more romantic feel.

Kivotos is a boutique hotel in the truest sense. The suites are few in number but big on style – carved into the volcanic rock and designed in a bold, minimalist palette of grey, black and natural textures. Most suites come with their own plunge pool or hot tub, and nearly all feature uninterrupted caldera views. It’s modern, moody, and deeply romantic.

When it comes to dining at Mavro, the in-house restaurant at Kivotos, expect Mediterranean flavors with a creative twist, served with that iconic Santorini view. You can also have a private dining on your terrace in complete privacy and the sea below. The restaurant is also open for external guests and a huge recommendation from our side, even if you’re not staying at Kivotos.

Regarding experiences and things to do, this is the kind of place where doing less is more. Spend your mornings with a breakfast on your private terrace, stroll to Fira for shopping and sunset cocktails, wander through the streets of Imerovigli, do a day trip to Oia or take a catamaran tour around the island.

Kivotos Santorini is intimate, design-driven, and made for couples looking for something out of the ordinary. It’s perfect for a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply a luxurious escape from the everyday – with stunning views and a top-notch atmosphere.

If you want to visit Mykonos in nearlx complete quiet, without the party scene, mid-May to end of May is the time to go. Most of the hotels and restaurants are already open during this time but it is still a bit off-season and since the weather could get quite windy on the coast most of the beachclubs are not as busy as in the high season – perfect for a lunch by the beach or walks through Mykonos Town.

If you’ve seen Cavo Tagoo on Instagram, you already know what to expect: sleek, whitewashed suites with floating beds, infinity pools and those famous bathtubs by the window. The Mykonos rooms and suites often come with outdoor pools and sea-view terraces, while the Santorini rooms embrace a more cave-inspired layout with Hot Tub Suites and Pool Suites offering the same high design in a more tranquil setting.

Visiting Paros is just perfect from June through September, with warm days, calm seas, and plenty of sunshine. If you’re looking for a bit more space and a quieter vibe, mid-May to early June or mid-September are ideal for exploring without the crowds, but especially in May it could get a bit windy and colder in the evenings, so make sure to be prepared for that.

The rooms and suites at Cove are a masterclass in understated elegance, with all neutral and earthy tones, smooth textures and thoughtfully placed design elements.
